Is my cat figurine bringing me bad luck?
Question : About 10 days ago I had to go to the house of my aunt who
had recently died, to clear out her things and arrange for them to be collected
by the local charity. She had nothing of value but I was attracted by a
little statue of a cat curled up and I decided to keep it for myself as
a memory of her. I took it home, and since then there hasn't been a moment's
peace in the house. First my daughter had her car stolen, then my husband
broke his thumb in a fishing accident of all things. I keep losing items
and finding them in places I certainly never put them and to cap it all,
yesterday all the electrical appliances in the kitchen turned on by themselves.
I'm beginning to think that the statue is bringing us bad luck. Could it
be cursed, or have I perhaps offended my aunt by not giving everything
to the charity as she asked. Even through I'm scared, I can't make myself
throw the statue out, What should I do?
REPLY : I'm sorry you are going through such a bad patch and it may
be limited to the statue or maybe not. But either way, I think we can use
it as a means to get you through this and to move on. Some items can be
cursed and carry a malevolent force with them, but I think that is unlikely
in this case, as otherwise you wouldn't have warmed to it in the first
place. Also I don't think your aunt would be upset, as she probably would
be happy that you wanted to keep some part of her with you. Even so, the
combination of events makes me feel that you should let it go, but please
don't just chuck it out. That may be unhelpful. Take the statue into your
hands during a quiet time and talk to it silently. Recount all the unfortunate
events that have happened since its' been with you and say that you are
sorry but it has to go and take all the bad luck with it. Focus on asking
it to draw all the clouds of the house into itself and, because of the
love you felt for your aunt, take them all away for good. Will the statue
to draw out like a magnet any misfortunes that may be around you and yours.
Then wrap it in a little piece of silk as a barrier around it and take
it out of town. When you get to a pretty spot, tell the statue that you
are putting it to rest in a lovely place, so it should understand that
you bear it no ill, and bury it under the ground. Say farewell to it and
walk away. The cat will be at peace, even through it has collected some
darkness from your home, because of the beauty of the place, and it will
also be out of the way. In time the misfortune it has collected will wear
away like a fading battery, and even if anyone finds it in the future it
will be quite safe. You are only using it as a channel, even if it is not
to blame. I will also visualize you doing this, to give you strength. I
am sure you will do fine.
